The short story
HGTV needed custom fences built fast
For Worst Yard on the Block, HGTV was looking for a Houston-area fence company that could design a custom fence and finish it in the tight window a film shoot allows. They brought in 76 Fence. Our crews built the fences seen in three Season 1 episodes.
76 Fence of Conroe belongs to the same 76 Fence family, so the crews behind those builds work the same way we do here.
The episodes

The builds
What our crews built
Every episode needed a different fence. Each one was finished on the show’s compressed schedule, with no shortcuts on how it was built.
Scrubs vs. Shrubs
The homeowners were two Houston-area medical professionals living in Katy, Texas. For their yard, our crew designed and built a custom horizontal wood privacy fence that stands 76 inches tall.
Horizontal fencesThe Feral Frontier
To help turn the yard into a safe haven, the crew built a white French Gothic picket fence that runs the width of the front yard.

The side yard got a cedar privacy fence, and the front got a custom horizontal rail fence. Together they helped make a hazardous yard safe and easy to enjoy.
Privacy fencesWhy a TV schedule fits how we work
A television shoot does not wait on a normal install calendar. The cameras, the designers, and the homeowners are only there for a few days, so the fence has to be done right the first time. We hold every job to that standard, filmed or not: real materials, posts set properly, and a crew that arrives on the day we promised. That holds for a backyard in Grand Central Park or a lake lot in Willis.
