Self-closing walk gates toward the dock or bulkhead, with stainless or galvanized hinges and latches.

Gates

Wooded-lot privacy

Cedar or vinyl privacy fence where the lot backs to trees or a road, with posts set to ride out spring storms.

Privacy fences

A small town behind a gate

Westwood Shores sits on Lake Livingston in Trinity County, with a Trinity 75862 address. It was developed in the 1970s and now covers about 1,300 acres with more than 800 homes and roughly 26 miles of roads. Entry is gated and staffed around the clock.

The property owners association owns and runs the 18-hole golf course and the marina. There are also inland lakes, including Westwood Lake, plus a pool, courts, a fitness center, and a clubhouse.

That variety shows up in fence requests. A lakefront owner wants to keep the view. A golf-course owner wants to stay out of the way of the fairway. An owner on a wooded lot wants privacy and a safe yard for a dog. Each one goes through the POA’s Architectural Control Committee.

Plan first

Before you fence in Westwood Shores

  • Architectural Control Committee. We confirm what the committee needs to see and put the submittal together.
  • Which water you face. Big-lake shoreline may involve TRA rules; inland lakes and golf lines may have POA limits. We check before choosing a style.
  • Storm and corrosion. We specify coated metal, stainless fasteners, and heavier hinges for lake exposure.
  • Gate scheduling. We set up access for each visit.
  • Texas 811. Locates are requested before every dig.

POA and TRA rules can change. We check the up-to-date rules for your property before quoting.

Questions

Westwood Shores fence questions

Do you serve Westwood Shores?

Yes. Westwood Shores is on the Trinity County side of Lake Livingston, one of the longer drives from our office at 1135 Grand Central Pkwy in Conroe. We group trips out that way, so call or text (713) 331-9419 and we’ll find a date.

Who approves fences in Westwood Shores?

The Westwood Shores POA has an Architectural Control Committee. We haven’t been able to read its fence rules, so we look up what your property’s rules call for and prepare the drawing and material details for review.

My lot is on the golf course. What fence makes sense?

Usually an open metal fence that keeps the fairway view and doesn’t fight the look of the course. Course-side lines can have their own limits, so we check with the committee first.

What about lots on the lake or Westwood Lake?

Lake Livingston is managed by the Trinity River Authority, so shoreline work may involve TRA or POA rules. We verify today’s requirements for your property before building near the water, on the big lake or the inland lakes.

Can you get through the gate?

Yes. Entry is staffed, and we set up access with you before the estimate and the build so the crew gets in on time.
