Fence Installation in Big Thicket Lake Estates

A small wooded community on SH 146 with its own private lakes. Not on Lake Livingston, despite what the name might suggest.

Its own lakes, not Lake Livingston

People often assume Big Thicket Lake Estates sits on Lake Livingston. It doesn’t. The lakes here are private, man-made community lakes, and Bear Foot Lake is the biggest. One listing says the fishing lakes are open only to owners.

The community straddles the line between Polk and Liberty counties, with SH 146 along its western edge, about 18 miles south of Livingston. Lots on the Liberty County side carry Cleveland 77328 addresses. It’s small: 514 residents at the 2020 census, spread over about two and a half square miles.

Lots tend to be wooded. One recent listing was about half an acre of trees, which is typical of the fence work we expect here: clear a line, mark the corners, and build something that holds up under falling limbs and wet springs.

Before you fence in Big Thicket Lake Estates

  • Which county you’re in. The community crosses the Polk–Liberty line. We confirm which county’s requirements apply to your address.
  • Community rules. We check any deed restrictions or association rules for your lot.
  • Lake-facing lines. Lots on a community lake may have their own limits.
  • Trees and corners. We find the pins and plan the line around trees worth keeping.
  • Texas 811. Locates come before every post hole.

Community and county rules can change. We check what is in force for your address before quoting.

With the corners. On wooded lots we find the pins, clear a path for the fence line, and plan post spacing around the trees you want to keep.
