Fences for homes
Start with how you use the yard
Some people call because the dog found a gap under the builder fence. Others are putting in a pool, want to block the view of a new two-story next door, or just bought a house with a fence that leans toward the neighbor. Each problem points to a different fence, so we ask a few questions before we suggest a material.
Then we walk the line. We note where the ground drops, which trees have roots near the posts, where the mower and trash bins need to pass, and whether the lot backs to a pond, greenbelt, or the lake. That walk is what the written quote is built from.
If your home is in a deed-restricted community, we also find out who reviews fences there and what they will want to see, so the fence you choose can be approved and built.
Fence types
What we build for Conroe homeowners
Wood, vinyl, composite, and ornamental metal, in the styles most homes and HOAs around town ask for.
Privacy fences
Six- or eight-foot fences in cedar, pine, vinyl, or composite. Choose flat boards, overlapping board-on-board, or a shadowbox look.
Privacy fencesPicket & garden fences
Lower fences that frame a front yard, garden, or patio and still let neighbors wave hello.
Picket fencesPool enclosures
Aluminum or steel barriers with self-closing, self-latching gates around the pool deck.
Pool enclosuresPet fences
Tighter spacing, buried or kickboard bottoms, and latches that a curious dog can’t nose open.
Pet fencesHorizontal & modern
Horizontal boards or slats for newer homes, where your community’s guidelines allow them.
Horizontal fencesGates
Walk gates, double drive gates, and side gates wide enough for a boat trailer or a riding mower.

Three kinds of lots, three different fences
A backyard in Mavera and an acre in Teaswood are both “residential,” but they need very different plans.
New master-planned lots
Communities like Grand Central Park, Artavia, Evergreen, and Mavera are filling with homes on lots roughly 40 to 80 feet wide. Most come with a builder fence. When it needs replacing, the new one usually has to match the street and pass the HOA.
Wooded acre lots
In Teaswood, Silverstone, and Deer Trail Two, many lots are about an acre with mature trees. Runs are long, roots and stumps sit where posts want to go, and owners often mix privacy near the house with open fencing farther out.
Lake and canal lots
On Lake Conroe, land up to the 201-ft contour belongs to the San Jacinto River Authority, and permanent structures there need an SJRA permit. Canal lots in places like Lake Conroe Hills can also have bulkheads where the fence has to stop.
Soil around Conroe changes from one street to the next, from sticky clay to loose sand, and summer downpours can leave low yards soggy for days. We pick post depth and footing for the ground we find on your lot, not a single number for the whole county.

Questions
Home fence questions
Can you replace the fence the builder put in?
Yes. Builder fences in newer Conroe communities are often the first thing to lean or gray. We can match the existing height and style so the line still looks like the rest of the street, or upgrade posts and boards if your HOA allows it. We confirm the current rules for your lot before quoting.
Do I need a permit for a backyard fence?
It depends on the address. Lots inside Conroe city limits fall under the city’s Building Inspections and Permits department. Many subdivisions around Conroe are in unincorporated Montgomery County, and Panorama Village is its own city. We check which rules apply to your property before we build.
How long does a typical backyard fence take?
Most backyard fences on a standard subdivision lot are built in a few days once approvals and 811 locates are done. Long runs, steep grade, heavy tree cover, or several gates add time, and we give you a realistic schedule with the quote.
Can you fence a yard that backs up to a pond, greenbelt, or the lake?
Yes, though these lots often have extra limits. Communities usually want open fencing along water and greenbelts, and on Lake Conroe the land up to the 201-ft contour belongs to the San Jacinto River Authority, which requires a permit for permanent structures. We sort out where the fence can go before we set a post.
